sessions

Well yesterday I had a family session. It was a cute family of 3. I had so much fun with them, and enjoyed capturing their images. Their little boy is just turning a year and it's funny how one forgets how active 1 year olds are. My girls are 3 & 5 and i forgot that when they were 1 they wouldn't sit still for even a moment lol And cute little RJ was the same way. He wanted to discover everything and see what there was to play with. :) And let me tell you this little boy had the absolute cutest expressions ever. After the viewing Appointment I'll be sure to post a couple he will just make you laugh hehe too stinkin cute. So thank you Foster family for allowing me into your life for an hour, and being able to capture you!!! :)

From the Northwest Florida Daily News comes this story of a Crestview couple who drove their car to Wal-Mart, only to have their car break down in the parking lot. The man told his wife to carry on with the shopping while he fixed the car in the lot.

The wife returned later to see a small group of people near the car. On closer inspection, she saw a pair of male legs protruding from under the chassis.

Although the man was in shorts, his lack of underpants turned private parts into glaringly public ones. Unable to stand the embarrassment, she dutifully stepped forward, quickly put her hand UP his shorts, and tucked everything back into place. She took a deep breath and stood up boldly to face the crowd. She looked across the hood and found herself staring at her husband, who had been standing idly by.


The mechanic, however, had to have three stitches in his forehead.

weather

WOW to wake up this morning and see it snowing yet again. I have to say for our first winter back we are sick of the snow lol how are you liking it? Has it effected you at all? Tis life I suppose and there's certainly nothing i can do about it. So I must accept it and try to enjoy it huh? Although it might be kind of cool to do a photoshoot in the snow. I can say I haven't done that yet. I have a family session today at 3pm, possibly we'll go in the back and take a shot or two? We shall see. In anycase be safe and have fun in the snow!!

Life

Do you ever have a day where it seems as your life just isn't going anywhere? You ponder about what really IS your purpose? Are you really fulfilling that purpose? Do you remember when you had such wonderful dreams, and it seemed as tho nothing could get in your way of those dreams? I believe that we all have these moments in our life. Sometimes its when we've hit rock bottom and there's only one way out, and its up! That things can only get better. I also believe that anything in life that's worth while, anything that you're trully passionate about will not only take a lot of hard work, but will also have many failures on the way. Sometimes you even second guess yourself, wonder if it really is possible. And a lot of times we're harder on ourselves than anyone else is. Why is this? is it really just human nature? Maybe its us pushing ourself to always strive harder and be better at whatever it is we do, because if you don't what's the point to it? My passion is photography, it has been since i was 4 years old. thats the age i started taking pictures using my mothers camera. I get enjoyment knowing that i have captured a moment in ones life that can never be relived again. That i get to capture memories in which will be looked upon for generations to come. And I get excited when I share my images with others, and can help them learn in any way possible. Because in the end, what is life if you spent it all doing something you hate? why waste the one chance at life on something medioker to you? Put everything you have, all the you can into the one thing that gives you excitment, the one thing that puts a huge smile on your face, the one thing that can give you true joy in life. If everyone were to do this, the world would be such a happier place. Full of people who LOVE their life and LOVE their job. I believe everyone is given a gifted talent of some sort....what's yours?

Calling all Juniors & Seniors

OK so here's the deal. Me and a couple fellow photographers from Oregon are teaming up. We've decided to do a photoshoot. In which will be an experience like NO OTHER!!! So far there's 2 photographers confirmed, with another 3 we need to hear back from. this opportunity is for juniors or seniors only who need senior pictures done!!! what's included is as follows:

You (or your parents lol)will not pay a session fee!!!

You will receive 2 FREE 8x10's from EACH photographer!!!

I am also throwing in referral cards for the 2 I pick!

Hair & make-up will be INCLUDED (pending the MUA has time available)

Varies locations, not only around St Helens & Scappoose but Portland as well!!!

This is taking place in February on a Sunday, we're looking at the 8th, not 100% sure yet tho. I am ONLY accepting TWO people for this. So please email me with a letter as to WHY you deserve to get this experience. I will notify the 2 winners asap, with further details. You (or a parent if under 18) will be require to sign a release form. We are also requiring a $20 retainer. This is to ENSURE you show up. The day of the session I will GIVE you the $20 back. If you do not show, your $20 is gone! There will be no indoor sessions for this opportunity, i may offer a deeply discounted quick indoor session for the 2 I choose, i'll be sure to let you know.

Cute vendor

My best friend has just started a business, she custom makes really cute tutu's (with awesome embellishments), headbands, wands, etc. pretty much a ton of princess stuff every little girl loves wearing :) We will be doing a photoshoot sometime soon I hope, to promote her cute items. Some favorites of 2008

I've decided to post a couple of my absolute favorite images from 2008. Most images have been deleted so I only will have a select few. The image above is the most closest to my heart. Why you ask? Because that image is of my beautiful daughters!!! They are usually always troopers when I am in need of a model and to practice or expirament! Thank you Naomi & Katrina for always being mommy's little helpers! This is the best image of the two of them together that i've ever gotten!!! LOVEIT! :)

The image above is the lovely Tom & Tammy. They were so nice in allowing me to photograph their wedding in November. This is myy favorite image of them from their wedding, they look so in love and very beautiful! Thank you both for allowing me to photograph your wedding, and congrats!!!!

The image above is sweet baby Emily. This was her first time getting her images done. And i just LOVE her expression in this picture. She was actually looking over at the strobe lights. But the images always makes me smile, and wonder what was going through her mind to give that expression lol

The image above is my pride and joy!!! I spent MANY hours trying to accomplish it. Shila is an aspiring model and was such a trooper. We had sooo much fun, and her images turned out beautifully!!! This is Shila posing in her own eye! I believe my inspiration of this came from the movie "The Eye" I think it was in theaters around the time of this session.

The image above is right after I bought my strobe lights. Shannon was such a good sport and so patient with me. She was also very open to experiment and have fun with her session. I love the smile on her face in this image!!! Thank you Shannon for being such a loyal client, wish I was still in 29 palms for ya!!

The image above is one of my good friends daughter. This was actually about the 3rd session I had ever done. It was on my first business card. Thank you little baby Taylor for being so cute and always doing fabulous photos for me!!!

Valentine's Day

Well Valentine's Day is right around the corner. I have already done my images for my husband, not quite sure what product I'll get him, but the images turned out fabulous. I'll post the one that I can show you. Valentine's Day is so fun, I love it actually. Nothing better than showing someone how much you love them. Not that it should only be on Valentine's Day, but it's still fun =D If you'd like to give your man the perfect gift feel free to contact me. Imagine the drool & excitement that will happen when he gets the gift of YOU!!! Nothing better than that!!!

My first Blog

Well i've decided that Simply Divine Photography should have a blog. I will think of new and different ways to keep this blog interesting.
